Ferry Reserve Forest
Presenting the opportunity to purchase a mature, tendered forest, situated 3km from Woodville on State Highway 3 at the entrance to the Manawatu Gorge, Ferry Reserve Forest is in a great location with excellent access.Planted in 1996 with a Net Stocked Area of 25.926ha (more or less), with a another 5.5ha (more or less), with availability pending.
The forest has been thinned and pruned to 6 metres with an area of approximately 6ha unpruned.
Terrain is medium contour that gives options for different harvesting configurations.
Ferry Reserve Forest has an operational Lime Quarry working under licence in a designated quarry area. The historic workings of the quarry have meant the establishment of a substantial road to the top of the block along with access over the railway and onto the State Highway. The new land owner will have the opportunity to review quarry operations if they intend to undertake quarrying with a licence of their own in the future.
