Charteris Bush Forest, being new to the market is an exceptional example of mid-rotation Douglas Fir.Planted across the 2011 and 2012 planting seasons the forest is characterised by superb establishment and a quality roading infrastructure. The 170.1 hectares of Douglas Fir has been managed professionally, and has just undergone a thin to waste operation, with an eye to allowing a production thin in future years.
The forest is all on Class 6 land, with the land best described as rolling to medium terrain, which is accessed directly off Charteris Bush Road.
Having 168.4 hectares registered under Stock Change in the ETS, Charteris Bush Forest allows potential Purchasers significant flexibility to generate income from both carbon and production forestry.
The forests’ location is ideal, being 131 km from Southport which provides good access to export markets, while within 110km are 3 local mills providing direct access to the domestic market.
